AWESOME FOURSOME

Earlier in the year the Amazing Step Sisters were invited to take part in the filming of a commercial for iKamva Labantu at our Rainbow Multipurpose Centre in Gugulethu. The four girls hail from Cape Town and have performed at many functions and events both locally and abroad. As a means of giving back to their community, they have agreed to make a donation to iKamva Labantu. Should corporates wish to book these fabulous entertainers please quote "iKamva Labantu" as a reference to ensure the donation is made. Visit www.frontpagemanagement.com for more information.
GREAT HEIGHTS

In July 2009 Jeremy Chaitman and his daughter Lara will be hiking Mount Elbrus in Russia Ñ the highest peak in Europe. With each step taken, they are hoping raise funds for iKamva Labantu (www.ikamva.org) and Francois Pienaar's MAD foundation (www.themadbunch.com). To be part of this experience and to make your own contribution, visit the soon-to-be-launched www.journeytothepeak.com, where you will be able to monitor their progress, view the funds raised and read blogs leading up to the exciting event.
WE ARE FAMILY!

Part of iKamva Labantu's strategic goal is to create resilient, creative, caring families and communities and to protect the vulnerable. In celebration of the 15th anniversary of the International Year of the Family (IYF), the Department of Social Development, in collaboration with other government departments and civil society organisations (such as iKamva Labantu), hosted a three-day Family Expo. The Expo was aimed at reinforcing awareness about the importance of the family unit, promoting positive parenting, and encouraging healthy family life, moral regeneration and positive behaviour. iKamva Labantu would like to thank the Department for creating the opportunity to engage and create awareness around the services provided by NGOs. We look forward to a continued mutually beneficial relationship with government as we strive to achieve self-reliant and sustainable communities. Here's to promoting, protecting and strengthening families.
